The MiniTickets Book

One small ticketing app on AWS, explained in plain words with the real terms. Read it start to end, and you can design it, run it, fix it and explain it in a senior interview.

You never need to read everything. There are three layers, and only the first is a must.

1. The path

Parts 0 to 6. About 47 short chapters of around 5 minutes each. Read them in order. Each one ends with a checkpoint, so you know it stuck.

2. The map

One map of MiniTickets that grows chapter by chapter. Click any piece to see what it is, who may talk to it, and how it breaks.

3. The reference

Deep dives per AWS service, a casebook of real failures, runbooks and a glossary. Open them when you need them.

Practice

Scenarios, flashcards, quizzes and a mock interview, all about MiniTickets.

Every page uses the real AWS terms, because those are the words you say in an interview. Each term is explained in simple words the first time it appears. For example: “The database’s security group allows inbound TCP 5432 only from the API’s security group, so only API tasks can connect.” Where a picture helps a first-time reader, a page adds one optional line that starts with “Think of it like…”, but never instead of the term.
